Drysgoed Dogs and Horses are proud to share the following story with you.
For many years, I tried to find a charity to work with who would allow me to realise a long-held dream. I wanted to be able to contribute to the mechanisation of a brick kiln, or similar unspeakable job which donkeys/ mules/horses/bullocks or camels are called upon to do.
I wanted to achieve this while I was still alive to see it happen. It proved very difficult. Of course, the charities wanted my money, but not to achieve mechanisation. Eventually, I found ‘Safe Haven for Donkeys’. They were more forward thinking.
It has taken a couple more years to achieve the mechanisation of the brick kiln. It involved a supporter from America who is an engineering expert, visiting the brick kiln. He was able to see the problem and decide how best to achieve the mechanisation.
It was decided a tractor would be the best solution. The tractor has been purchased. As promised, I paid for it. I can’t tell you how pleased I am to have finally achieved this in my lifetime. In due course, I will receive photographs and videos of the tractor in action.
My thinking behind the above action was always that, Britain had to go through the Industrial Revolution to get to where we are today. These other countries will need to go through theirs too if they are ever going to progress.
What kept me trying throughout the years, when it seemed, I was never going to achieve my dream, was one of Ghandi’s sayings.
